On 14th March, 2003, the Bonfiglioli Transmissions Pvt. Ltd. Plant in Chennai received ISO 9001:2000 certification from the auditors of the TÜV certification center. This is just one more result, following ISO 9002:94 certification obtained in November 2001, rewarding Bonfiglioli's hard work in recent years, which has made this important Indian firm highly efficient by International standards. In just a short time the company managed to achieve a highly prestigious goal (consider that the cornerstone of the plant was not laid until 1999). The facility covers 26,820 m2, while the organization is made up of 142 employees of whom 27 are in marketing / sales, 80 in production, 13 employees in quality and 22 in purchase and logistics, human resource, administration and finance, plus a network of 10 peripheral sales offices and 32 dealers to complete the sales organisation. Bonfiglioli Transmissions' turnover in 2002 settled around 10 million Euros, compared to 4.6 million Euros in 2001. Growth has been exponential and proves the commitment and skill demonstrated by the entire operative and executive staff. Production was around 40,000 reducers in 2002, and the ability to interact with suppliers - including 30 local to India - highlights the extent to which corporate business culture is rooted within this orginisation. Attainment of ISO 9002:2000 certification is an important milestone because it is evidence of the commitment and skill invested in the Bonfiglioli India project, with passion and professionalism. |
